TFNR - The Properties and Behaviors of Reality

By Properties I refer to attributes, characteristics, modes of expression, qualities and quantities of Entities, Events, Relations, and Processes that generate Reality.

The main properties of Reality are Existence and Essence / Form.

Existence pertains to the formation (creation) of Events (what happens), which constitute Action. Existence is the result of the incessant sub-process of Creation.

Essence / Form pertains to the formation (evolution—organization, transformation, and selection) of Relations (how it happens), which constitute Information. Essence / Form is the result of the incessant sub-process of Evolution.

The other properties of Reality, or of its subsets, its causal / variational portions, are infinite: Extension and Size, Duration, and Capacity for Action—each relating to various dimensions of Reality. Mass, Motion, Charge, and Spin—each relating to the structured Field and the Structures of Information it contains. And many others, such as density, color, hardness, duration, chemical composition, capacity, etc.—each relating to the Forms that compose the Universe.

Alongside the "static" Properties, we find the "dynamic" Properties—Behaviors (an example: inertia and momentum in a moving object, manifestations of Physical Reality evolving over time). These represent Properties studied and described by Evolutionary Dynamics, particularly by the Dynamics of Physical Reality, which includes:

  • the Dynamics of the Source
  • the Dynamics of Action and its Modes / Components
  • the Dynamics of Information, Dynamics of the Structures of Information
  • the Dynamics of Physical Forms and Systems
  • the Dynamics of the Cosmos and the Universe
  • the Dynamics of the physical aspects of the Cognitive Systems and Ecosystems
  • the Biological evolutionary dynamics and the Dynamics of Living Beings
