Let us focus on the first three levels of inhomogeneity and clarify their nature from the ontological, phenomenological, and dynamical points of view. We are at the most elementary level of Reality, where the most fundamental aspects of the Process of Formation are at work — the sub‑process of Creation, responsible for the transition from the state of Nothingness to the state of Emptiness, and therefore for the Formation of the most elementary form of Existence: the Elementary Events, in their pre‑spatial and pre‑temporal perspectives, including when examined in contrast with the average dynamism of the Field.

We are in the phase of the incessant transition between Non‑Existence and Existence in its simplest form. It is precisely in this phase that, I repeat, the fundamental dimensions of Reality incessantly emerge: "causality", through the expression of the Fundamental Force and its Action on the Elementary Field, and "variationality", the result of that Action, which produces effects on the Field whose Form continuously "varies". And what varies, at infinitesimal dimensional scales around the Planck scale and beyond, are spatial and temporal distances. In this dimensional dynamism, Space and Time emerge and are defined, and through their interaction they give rise to the entity we call Space‑time, from whose dynamics arises the Metric — with its Curvature — Mass, and the related gravitational Phenomena.

This model of the Formation of Reality hypothesizes the incessant parallel and synergic work of two sub‑processes: the continuous Creation of Existence (Elementary Action) and the equally continuous Evolution of the Essence / Form of Reality (Information / Energy, InfoStructures, Forms, Systems, the Universe as a whole).

We have already examined these aspects in the chapter dedicated to Elementary Action.

Let us summarize: at the most elementary level of Reality, the Primary Source, through the internal interaction of its two aspects — the Fundamental Force and the Elementary Field — incessantly produces the Elementary Events. The inhomogeneities in their distribution represent the Elementary Action and its three Modes / Components — Perturbation, Translation, and Rotation — the true "substance" of all that exists. These inhomogeneities represent the most elementary form of Energy: unstructured, unmanifested proto‑Energy, Elementary Energy that gives rise to the Structures of Information we observe and measure through their mutual Interactions, Waves, and the Vortices that compose the physical world.

The most elementary levels of Reality — the level of the Source (Force and Field) and the level of Elementary Action, characterized by the ceaseless dynamism of the Elementary Field generated by the continuous Action of the Force — can, from an energetic or rather "proto‑energetic" standpoint, be examined from three perspectives. Proto‑Energy is the energetic expression of uncorrelated individual dynamics. It corresponds to asymmetries intrinsic to single event‑points of the Elementary Field, before any correlational or relational structure emerges. These perspectives arise from the three fundamental forms of inhomogeneity or asymmetry produced by the elementary dynamics of the Field, and can be regarded as sub‑levels:

  • sub‑Elementary pre‑spatial unmanifested proto‑Energy — SE_PS_PE — Originates from the "first level of inhomogeneity", associated with the pre‑spatial asymmetrical dynamics of elementary pre‑spatial fluctuations of the Elementary Field (Elementary Events) — amplitude, orientation, chirality, and axis‑orientation of vorticity — observed from the point of view of the dynamics of individual event‑points.
  • sub‑Elementary pre‑temporal unmanifested proto‑Energy — SE_PT_PE — Originates from the "second level of inhomogeneity", associated with the pre‑temporal asymmetrical distributions of the dynamics of pre‑spatial elementary fluctuations of individual event‑points in the four aspects corresponding to the Modes / Components of Elementary Action, observed from the point of view of the dynamics of individual event‑points.
  • Elementary Energy — Elementary pre‑spatial and pre‑temporal unmanifested proto‑Energy — E_PST_PE — Originates from the "third level of inhomogeneity”, associated with the pre‑temporal asymmetrical distributions of the dynamics of pre‑spatial elementary fluctuations of individual event‑points relative to the Field's standard behavior — that is, when observed from the point of view of the dynamism of individual event‑points relative to the average dynamism of the Field, whether understood as the universal background or as the significant neighborhood surrounding the event‑point under consideration.

Let us begin with the "First level of inhomogeneity"

The first form of inhomogeneity is associated with asymmetries in the pre‑spatial σ-fluctuations of the Elementary Field that resonate around the Planck scale. These are what we call Elementary Events: fluctuations of the Elementary Field, inhomogeneities of pre-spatial distances, areas, and volumes at the most elementary level of Physical Reality. This represents Energy in the unstructured Field — Energy corresponding to the Elementary Events.

Let us try to place two types of representations side by side to clarify concepts that lie far beyond the domain disclosed by conventional science. For each transition between the different states of the Elementary Field — states that correspond to the various Levels of Reality and the nested levels of Complexity that follow one another from a causal and variational point of view — I will provide both a discrete two‑dimensional grid representation and a continuous two‑dimensional gradient representation. In both cases these are approximate, imaginative representations, since a faithful depiction of a level of Reality so distant from the one we inhabit would be impossible, especially on a printed page. In truth, it would require spatially three‑dimensional, temporally dynamic representations of infinitesimal dimensional domains (around the Planck scale), in which all event‑points fluctuate with extremely high indeterminacy in all the Components of Elementary Action (pre‑temporal distributions of pre‑spatial fluctuations, spatial directionality of fluctuations, torsional chirality, and spatial orientation of the torsion axis). Although far from Reality, these two types of representation can nevertheless help support the description and make it somewhat more accessible.

Let us begin with the state I call Nothingness. The Nothing. The Primary Source of Reality is not manifest; its infinite potential for causal and variational Agency is not expressed. The Force does not act, does not produce Action. The Field does not vary, does not undergo variation, and does not produce re‑Action. Absolute and immutable homogeneity.

- INCLUDE IMAGE: ELEMENTARY FIELD LEVEL 0 -

It is evident that since there is no Action, there is also no Information. In particular, the elementary form of Information that I call Energy is, in this hypothetical scholastic condition, stationary and invariably null. (Although, in Reality, the Primary Source is never inactive, its essential property being the manifestation of its formative power.)

Let us now move to the condition corresponding to the first level of inhomogeneity. Let us assume that the Source produces Causal Action and Variational Effects. Of the latter, let us momentarily limit ourselves to observing only the first aspect: the "pre‑spatial σ-fluctuations" resonating around the Planck scale. What would we expect to see in such a dynamically inhomogeneous Field? This is the most elementary aspect of the most elementary state in which we can observe the Elementary Field. If we could slow down Time by an immense factor (40 or more orders of magnitude) and vastly expand our vision and resolution (about 35 orders of magnitude), we would see rulers floating, expanding and contracting in all directions, endlessly, in a bizarre three‑dimensional landscape where everything is uncertain, evanescent, unstable, and infinitely changeable. Pure chaos.

Let us try to imagine how the representations above would change. We are in the state we call Emptiness — absolute void, pure chaos, no order, no organization, no Form. Only pre‑spatial fluctuations, only Elementary Events.

- INCLUDE IMAGE: ELEMENTARY FIELD LEVEL 1 -

At this minimal level, even without form, a form — however elementary — is present. An impermanent form that is always changing, leading us to conclude that we are in the presence of pure chaos. Yet even in this absolute chaos, if we could take a snapshot, we would see something: a chaotic, random Form — and yet a Form. But since each event‑point manifests an absolutely chaotic dynamism, stochastically independent from the dynamism of all other event‑points of the Field, we are not yet speaking of Information–Energy, whose nature is founded on Relation — on correlations among the dynamisms of multiple event‑points within a region of the Field. Here we are speaking of non‑correlational Proto‑Energy: a very low‑level typology of "Energy", entirely unusable, characterized by maximal entropy, we might say.

And how could we measure or represent this Energy? In an extreme phenomenological situation like the one we are describing — so far from our sensory experience — two elements are at work: the Fundamental Force, which produces Action, and the Elementary Field, which deforms, becomes inhomogeneous. As infinitesimal pre‑spatial volumes expand and contract, pre‑spatial distances vary incessantly. Force and variation of position — displacement. Does that sound familiar? Force times displacement.

It is the first schoolbook definition of Energy understood in terms of Work: force applied along a distance. What happens when we move a leg to walk — the Forces, the Actions, the Energies involved — has the same nature, though expressed in more complex forms, as the physical quantities that characterize the most elementary level of Reality, where Metric, Mass, Motion, Charge, and Spin are not yet expressed and still must evolve through the joint manifestation of the Agents of Reality, the functional Operators responsible for the Formation of Reality.

And what about "Work", the physical quantity mentioned above, which we associate with Energy? Work manifests precisely through the Action of a Force. Here Work corresponds to the Action of the Fundamental Force on the Elementary Field in producing the Elementary Events, the pre‑spatial fluctuations we are discussing. And the Work exerted by the Force — which we observe as deformation / inhomogeneity of the Field — in the absence of constraints or interactions, is re‑expressed in the opposite direction by the Field, which expresses re‑Action: an Action equal and opposite to that which produced the deformation. A dynamic and conservative Field at the same time, the support for the Formation of Existence and Essence / Form of Physical Reality.

Let us assume that the Force is constant, the incessant, continuous manifestation of the active aspect of the Source. And let us also hypothesize that the resistance to variation that the Elementary Field opposes to the Action of the Force is likewise incessant, continuous, and constant. In this context, we may express the instantaneous Proto-Energy of the Elementary Field as the sum of all variations of pre‑spatial distances — the result of elementary fluctuations, the sum of all displacements produced and frozen in the hypothetical snapshot taken at any instant of the flow of Formation of Reality.

A hypothetical and imaginative depiction. In fact, I do not believe that anyone will ever be able to take such a snapshot. We ourselves are made of InfoStructures and of Potentials — Structures within the Field. Not even a single electron — whose so‑called "classical radius" is about 10^-15 meters, although it does not represent a real physical size — could cast a glance twenty orders of magnitude deeper, toward the Planck scale. Perhaps we will only ever be able to gather indirect effects. Perhaps...

Let us now move on to the “Second level of inhomogeneity”

The second form of inhomogeneity is represented by the inhomogeneities in the temporal distributions of the pre‑spatial fluctuations of the Elementary Field that resonate around the Planck scale. These are what we call the “temporal distributions of Elementary Events”: inhomogeneities of Temporal distances, of the speed of the flow of Time, at the most elementary level of Physical Reality. This represents Energy in the unstructured Field — Energy corresponding to the distributions of Elementary Events.

It represents the Energy of the event‑point of the Field due to Elementary Action in its fundamental Modes / Components: Perturbation, Translation, Rotation:Chirality, and Rotation:AxisOrientation. It is the first form of multiplicity. Each event‑point expresses its dynamics in multiple ways, corresponding to the Modes / Components of Elementary Action.

Here too, we try to observe the graphic representations to understand how the Energy associated with this state of the Elementary Field can or must be expressed. Compared to the previous situation, something fundamental has changed. Alongside Space, Time has appeared. And this makes everything more complicated, because taking a snapshot means blocking — stopping — Time.

- INCLUDE IMAGE: ELEMENTARY FIELD LEVEL 2 -

But how can we evaluate the total Energy — both that related to pre‑spatial movements and that associated with the temporal distributions of such movements? Better to say pre‑spatial fluctuations, because the term “displacement” makes us think of something that moves, that shifts, whereas here nothing moves: it is Space itself that contracts and expands. The impossibility of performing a precise joint measurement of Energy (associated with pre‑spatial fluctuations) and Time (associated with the temporal distribution of those fluctuations) is the root of the Uncertainty Principle. This Principle lies at the foundation of all Formation of Reality, describing its fundamental processes at the most elementary level. The foundation of its nature is located at the maximum causal and variational depth, at the first manifestation of the Source. We have therefore elected it as the “first Principle of Evolutionary Dynamics”.

If we stop Time, we can evaluate the Energy of the elementary fluctuations produced by the Force in its Action on the Field. If we want to observe the temporal distribution of such fluctuations, we cannot stop Time — and therefore we cannot observe the product of the Action, and thus cannot evaluate the Energy. There is no way out. It is not a matter of technology, methods, or tricks. It is a mission impossible. Nature is made this way. Space and Time go hand in hand, but, so to speak, they play hide‑and‑seek. If one is in sight, the other is certainly hidden. We cannot do anything about it. And this characteristic persists throughout the entire Process of Formation, in the Evolution of Reality: up to InfoStructures, where it manifests as uncertainty in the measurement of conjugated variables at the level of quantum mechanics; and up to Forms, where its effects gradually fade, scaling down and compensating for one another at increasingly larger dimensional scales, at the level of classical mechanics.

So what? What can we do to evaluate the Energy associated with this second level of inhomogeneity? Here, to overcome the impasse, a trick is needed. We can — and must — ignore the Energy associated with pre‑spatial fluctuations, since in the flow of Time these fluctuations incessantly compensate one another, and their effect does not propagate to increasingly larger dimensional scales as we move away from the Planck domain toward the scales that characterize the quantum world, and then upward toward our macroscopic world, and onward toward the stars and the infinite Universe — where Space, contrary to what dominant theories assert, is perfectly flat and Time is curved. The fluctuations of pre‑spatial curvature around the Planck scale compensate one another in their dimensional surroundings; therefore, although they constitute the most elementary form of Existence on which everything is built, they do not exert any effect on the dynamics of higher dimensional scales.

Let us consider only the Energy associated with the inhomogeneities in the temporal distributions of the Elementary Events — of the infinitesimal pre‑spatial fluctuations. This is the root of the curvature of Time, corresponding to the first Component of Elementary Action, which we call Perturbation — itself the root of the Curvature of Spacetime (to be understood, as we are saying, as curvature of Time only) and of Mass. Temporal curvature from the point of view of the Elementary Field, source of the Metric and of metric phenomena (gravitational potential energy); and Mass (effective gravitational energy) from the point of view of the Structures in the Field, source of gravitational phenomena. Metric and gravitational phenomena — Curvature and Mass — are complementary aspects of the same phenomenon, the manifestation of the Perturbation Component. But we will discuss this extensively in the next chapter.

So far, we have not yet spoken of Relations between event‑points, of correlations in their dynamics. We have only spoken of single event‑points, of their pre‑spatial and temporal dynamics, as if they were totally independent. This is not the case. The Elementary Field, in addition to being dynamic and conservative, is infinitely, continuously, and incessantly connected. We will address this in the next section, dedicated to the third form of inhomogeneity.

And now, the "Third level of inhomogeneity"

The third form of inhomogeneity corresponds to what we call Elementary Energy. From the point of view of the dynamics of individual event‑points relative to the average dynamics of the Field, it arises from inhomogeneities in the pre‑temporal distributions of Elementary Events with respect to the Field's standard behavior. These inhomogeneities generate an unmanifested form of proto‑Energy associated with Elementary Action, expressed through its fundamental Modes / Components (Perturbation, Translation, Rotation:Chirality, Rotation:AxisOrientation).

It is essential to emphasize that, despite its name, Elementary Energy is still a form of proto‑Energy. We are still entirely within the domain of the unstructured Field. Therefore, Elementary Energy is not yet correlational Energy, and not yet Information / Energy. In the first two levels, each event‑point expressed a single, purely stochastic dynamism. Here, instead, each event‑point expresses a multiplicity of dynamisms, corresponding to the different Modes / Components of Elementary Action. This is the first appearance of multiplicity, but not yet of Relation. The event‑points remain dynamically independent; their multiplicity is internal, not relational.

Elementary Energy therefore represents the proto‑energetic content of an event‑point considered individually, enriched by the internal structure of Elementary Action. Even though we compare the dynamism of an event‑point with the average dynamism of the Field, this comparison does not introduce correlation: it is a purely local evaluation, not a relational one. The event‑point's deviation from the Field's average behavior remains an individual deviation, not a coordinated or shared deviation. For this reason, Elementary Energy is proto‑Energy endowed with internal structure, but not yet with relational structure.

This level marks the threshold at which the Elementary Field begins to exhibit a richer internal dynamism, though still entirely non‑correlational. The Modes / Components of Elementary Action — Perturbation, Translation, Rotation:Chirality, Rotation:AxisOrientation — describe the internal proto‑dynamics of each event‑point, not the co‑dynamics among multiple event‑points. Only at the next level will correlations emerge, giving rise to Information and to the first truly relational forms of Energy.

For a detailed discussion of this topic, I refer to the section "The Dynamics of Elementary Action and its Modes / Components" — "Elementary Energy" in the chapter devoted to Elementary Action.

Summary and transition

Across these three levels of inhomogeneity, we have examined the entire spectrum of proto‑energetic manifestations of the Elementary Field. In the first level, we encountered the purely chaotic, non‑correlational proto‑Energy associated with the incessant pre‑spatial fluctuations of the Field. In the second level, we introduced an ordering perspective and observed the proto‑Energy associated with the pre-temporal distributions of those fluctuations. In the third level, we reached the proto‑Energy associated with the internal multiplicity of each event‑point, expressed through the Modes / Components of Elementary Action, with a focus on the discrepancies between the evolution of the local dynamism and the universal dynamism, so to speak.

It is essential to emphasize that, up to this point, we have dealt exclusively with non‑correlational proto‑Energy. Even Elementary Energy — despite its name — is still proto‑Energy. We are still within the hypothetical observation of individual event‑points. Each event‑point expresses its own dynamism, whether pre‑spatial, pre-temporal, without any relation to the dynamism of other specific event‑points. Even when we compare the dynamics of an event‑point with the average dynamism of the Field, this comparison does not generate correlation: it is a purely local evaluation, not a relational one. Therefore, no Information / Energy has yet emerged. Multiplicity is present, but it is entirely internal; Relation has not yet appeared.

Up to this stage, the Elementary Field behaves as a collection of independent infinitesimal domains, each expressing its own proto‑energetic content. But the Field is not only dynamic and conservative: it is also infinitely, continuously, and incessantly connected. Beyond the third level, the independence of event‑points gives way to correlation. Their dynamisms begin to resonate, to coordinate, to relate. And Relation is the root of Information. The next level of inhomogeneity marks the threshold at which proto‑Energy becomes correlational Energy — the first manifestation of Information / Energy, the foundation of Structure, of Form, and of the entire Evolutionary Dynamics.

Let me recall that all these levels are abstractions we use here to describe what cannot truly be described. To analyze what cannot truly be analyzed — what, as we have repeatedly said, lies beyond our possibilities of observation and understanding. Physical Reality incessantly emerges from a single universal dynamism which we are attempting to unpack, layer by layer, solely for descriptive purposes, in order to highlight its causal and variational aspects. In Reality there are no layers, planes, or levels. There is only one continuous, unceasing creative and evolutionary flow of Action taking Form — of dynamism generating structure, which in turn influences dynamism — from the most elementary and microscopic scale to the most vast and complex.

We now move on to the fourth level of inhomogeneity, where the Elementary Field reveals its intrinsic connectivity and where the first relational structures of Reality begin to emerge.
