A complementary aspect of Causal Evolution and the "main causal chain" is Variational Evolution and its corresponding Main variational chain of Reality.

The latter provides us with a synthetic vision of the entire Process of Formation from the variational perspective (spatial and temporal)—the one concerning the deformation of the Elementary Field and the Derived Fields. We are, of course, speaking of Space-time and all the structures it assumes, which we observe as Waves, Particles, Interactions, Energy and Matter, objects, stars and galaxies—the entire Universe in Evolution.

The main variational chain of Reality is the backbone of the incessant and universal unitary Process through which Reality is formed, seen from the perspective of the Field. It is the sum of all Derived Processes which—across various domains, at different Levels, and within the multiple Dimensions of Reality—incessantly generate the Structures, Forms, and Systems we perceive around and within us.

The main stages that compose the main variational chain are as follows:

  • Field(s) / Entities: the passive sub-Entities of what I call Sources
  • Events: the variational counterpart of Action, constituting its raw material—pure variation, deformation
  • Relations: the variational counterpart of Information (Energy, Matter, etc.), constituting its raw material—the form-giving element, the organization of Events
  • Processes: which we observe as Structures of Information, Forms, Systems—the Universe itself. Organized variations. Correlations among distributions of variation.

Each stage is expressed across the various Levels of Reality, in different forms— a milestone on the path toward the increasing Complexity of Reality.
