Processes in which transformative Action prevails—disgregation/destruction of Complexity, of complex Information, and reduction of a set/network into its component parts; destroying Processes.

Catabolism is the set of metabolic pathways that break down complex Information (and Structures of Information, Forms) into simpler Information (and Structures of Information, Forms), which then become available for reuse in/by other anabolic Processes. These Processes require Events, Action, the expression of Agents / Forces upon Acted / Fields, as dynamic support to the Evolution (Devolution, a degenerative Process—a movement away from Complexity or order) of Relations—they require work. Catabolism represents the breaking-down aspect of formation, whereas anabolism represents the building-up aspect.

These kinds of Processes cooperate in the formation and coevolution of Reality, producing less complex Information / Energy, Structures of Information, and Forms.
