Derived Action is any form of Action, other than and more complex than the Elementary Action.

I call these forms of Action "derived" because they come from the organization and evolution of the most elementary form of Action.

As the Elementary Action is the expression of the Primary Source (the Fundamental Force–Elementary Field pair), Derived Action is the expression of the Derived Sources, the pairs formed by Agents / Forces and Acted / Fields, which manifest themselves through all the derived, more complex forms of Agency.

We characterize Derived Action with reference to the different domains of Reality and to the different aspects that compose the Process of Formation of Reality: the Process of Formation of Physical Reality and the Process of Formation of Cognitive Reality.

Derived Action is the second functional element of the "Main causal chain of Reality": Force-Action-Information-Form:

• Derived Action represents the expression and manifestation of the derived causal Derived Agents / Forces,
• it is the root of each complex event, of each variation in the dynamics and states of Derived Acted / Fields,
• it is the foundation of Reality at all levels more complex than the elementary one,
• it is the "substrate" of the Forms, both in the physical and cognitive domains, organized by Physical Relations and Cognitive Relations, in Physical and Cognitive Information respectively, and in Structures of Information (Physical Structures of Information and Cognitive Structures - Representations of Reality).

It is the main expression of Agency. It is the product of the internal interaction (Physical and Cognitive Interactions) between Derived Agents / Forces and Derived Acted / Fields, the fundamental manifestation of the Derived Sources.

Action represents the expression and manifestation of causal agents, Derived Forces acting on Derived Fields. It represents the act of producing Complex Events, changes in the state of "acted Entities". This is the foundation of the complex levels of Reality. It is the "substrate" of Physical and Cognitive Existence, of Physical and Cognitive Essence / Form, and, more generally, of Information (In-Form-Action), the Structures of Information and the Forms that compose the Physical and the Cognitive Universe in Evolution.

It relates to the distribution of Complex Events in the causal, spatial, and temporal dimensions, both in the physical and cognitive domains.

Derived Action expresses itself in three Modes / Components.

These are the functional operators that act at the level of Derived Action in the Process of Formation of Reality, the Derived Agents / Forces acting on the Derived Acted / Fields, producing Derived Action, express themselves in three inseparable Modes—the Components of Physical and Cognitive Action respectively:

• Perturbation - Perception: specifications of the operator Variation and expression of the Principle of Uncertainty, they transmute the pressure of the Derived Agents / Forces into an incessant flux of variations and fluctuations of the fundamental parameters of the Derived Acted / Fields,
• Translation - Communication: specifications of the operator Propagation and expression of the Principle of Action and Reaction, they transmute variations into propagational fluxes, directed toward the restoration of homogeneity and isotropy,
• Rotation - Storage: specifications of the operator Conservation and expression of the Principle of Least Action, they transmute the propagation of variations into conservative fluxes that tend to preserve the same perturbations.

All forms of Action are limited.

At any level of Complexity, Derived Action represents the transition from the possible to the actual.

It is the expression of the fundamental features of the two components of the Derived Sources—the Derived Agents / Forces and the Derived Acted / Fields—Causality and Variationality (Spatiality and Temporality) respectively, in the physical and cognitive domains of Reality.

Derived Physical Action

Now we must articulate, for the physical domain, what has been said above about Derived Action in general.

Derived Physical Action is any form of Physical Action, other than and more complex than the Elementary Action.

We call these forms of Physical Action "derived" because they come from the organization and evolution of the most elementary form of Physical Action.

As the Elementary Action is the expression of the Primary Source, Derived Physical Action is the expression of the Derived Physical Sources, the pairs composed of Physical Agents / Forces and Physical Acted / Fields, which manifest themselves through all the derived, more complex forms of Physical Agency.

Derived Action is the second functional element of the "Main causal chain of Reality" in the physical domain of Nature: Derived Forces-Derived Action-Energy and Physical Information-Physical Forms (from the more general: Force-Action-Information-Form).

Derived Physical Action represents the expression, the manifestation of the derived causal Derived Physical Forces:

• it is the root of each complex physical event, of each variation in the dynamics and states of Derived Physical Fields,
• it is the foundation of Physical Reality at all levels more complex than the elementary one,
• it is the "substrate" of Physical Forms, organized by Physical Relations, in Physical, and in Physical Structures of Information.
