The Fundamental Principles of Reality are the most important principles that characterize the formation of the whole Reality, both in the physical and in the meta-physical/cognitive domain.
Within a general process of derivation that—starting from the elementary, the absolute—leads to the complex, the relative (relativization as a fundamental aspect of the Process of Formation of Reality), more specific Principles emerge in the physical domain of Reality. The same applies to the cognitive side of Reality, where these Principles give rise to the more abstract forms that characterize cognitive systems and knowledge.
Here I will represent these Principles in their most elementary form, related to the phase/sub-Process of the fundamental Process of Formation of Reality that we call Creation—concerning the production of the Elementary Action at the most elementary level of Reality. Each of the following Principles can be expressed—and actually expresses itself—in various ways at increasingly complex levels of Reality and across different domains of Nature (both physical and cognitive).
The most elementary and fundamental principles of Reality are the following:
Principle of Variation
The true nature of Existence, in its most elementary Essence/Form, is represented by change, variation, transformation, mutation.
Only variations—mutations of Entities (Sources, the Force/Field unitary pairs)—thus only Events, Action, are the manifestation of Existence. We can say that Entities exist because they produce Events, Action—thus Existence. Reality is the product of an incessant Process of Formation, where variation is the fundament—the true core of the ongoing Creation and Evolution of the Universe.
In the physical domain of Nature, this principle manifests itself as the Principle of Perturbation.
Principle of Propagation
Any variation of a Field produced by the Action of a Force tends to propagate spatially within the Field (and thus to conserve temporally), transmitting, "propagating" the Action of those Forces—as Events—through the Field, propagating Causes and Causality via the propagation of Action.
The propagation of Causes—of Forces—and their manifestations is represented by the spatial extension of the effects of the Action produced by those Causes/Forces.
In the physical domain of Nature, this principle manifests itself as the Principle of Action and Reaction.
Principle of Conservation
Any variation of a Field produced by a Force tends to conserve temporally within the Field (and thus propagate spatially), preserving the Action of those Forces—the Events—through the Field, maintaining Causes and Causality via the conservation of Action.
The conservation of causes—of Forces—is represented by the temporal permanence of the effects of the Action produced by those Causes/Forces.
In the physical domain of Nature, this principle manifests itself as the Principle of Least Action.
Principle of Unity
The Field (as well as the Force that acts upon it, producing Elementary Events) is one and only one. It is undivided and indivisible—infinite and unlimited in both spatial and temporal dimensions.
From the organization of the spatial correlations (Information/Energy) of the:
- inhomogeneities in the temporal distributions -> the Mode/Component of Elementary Action I call Perturbation
- spatial orientation (direction and verse) -> the Mode/Component of Elementary Action I call Translation
- sense of chirality -> the Mode/Component of Elementary Action I call Rotation:Chirality
- spatial orientation of the axis of chirality -> the Mode/Component of Elementary Action I call Rotation:AxisOrientation
of the elementary spatial fluctuations (Elementary Events) of that Field, the entire complex multiplicity of the Forms of the evolving Universe emerges.
At the most elementary level of Reality, the multiplicity—the Complexity of the infinite world—is only apparent, like the mesmerizing white foam crests over the blue ocean.
Principle of Connection
The Field is entirely connected—every Event can interact with any other Event, with the only limit represented by the possibility of expression of Causality (the primary manifestation of the Agency of the Source, in its aspect referred to here as the Fundamental Force). This limit of causal connection—expressed at the Space-time level—depends on one of the fundamental Properties/Behaviors of the Elementary Field: the natural limit of the speed of propagation of Causality / Action / Information.
This limitation arises from the Field's resistance to variations in its elementary dynamics, specifically in the Modes referred to as Rotation:Chirality and Rotation:AxisOrientation—parameters respectively known as epsilon zero (the dielectric constant of the vacuum) and mu zero (the magnetic permeability of the vacuum). From their combination derives the speed of light in a vacuum (inversely proportional to the square root of the product of vacuum permittivity and vacuum permeability). In this model of Physical Reality, I hypothesize that this quantity represents an insurmountable limit, though it does not constitute a universal constant. It is defined locally—at each point of the Elementary Field—by its own intrinsic dynamics. Indeed, this limit is what I refer to here as Perturbation—the Mode of Elementary Action which, in essence, represents the temporal density of spatial fluctuations, and therefore of Elementary Events.
The Principle of Connection implies the continuity of the Elementary Field and of the Fields derived from it—the Metric Field (or Space-Time), the Electric Field, and the Magnetic Field. From the evolution of the dynamics of the Elementary Field and the aforementioned Derived Fields, Structures gradually emerge which—originating from continuity and immersed within it—acquire an increasingly discrete and individuated character.
In the physical realm of Nature, this principle manifests itself as the Principle of Locality.
Principle of Relation
As described by the Principle of Connection, any fluctuation—any variation in the dynamics of the Field, a continuous Entity—therefore every Elementary Event produced by the Action of the Force on the Field, can ideally interact with any other Event, with an intensity determined by the causal, spatial, and temporal distance between them.
This interaction is governed by the finite speed of propagation of the Field's elementary spatial fluctuations, which constitute the Elementary Events.
Thus, extending this description, we can affirm that—within the limits imposed by finite propagation velocity—everything in the Universe has the potential to connect and interact with everything else.
This potential for interconnection is expressed in the incessant Creation and Evolution of Relations that bind Events into more complex and multifaceted Events—into Processes of Events organized by Relations. These Processes, in their entirety and individuality, acquire the character of Entities, of Sources, which in turn generate new Events. These new Events, through interaction, establish further and more intricate Relations, forming increasingly complex Processes. And so on, in an escalation of Complexity, wherein ever-new Entities, ever-new Phenomena, and ever-more intricate Dynamics concur and compete in the incessant Formation of Reality.
Causal, spatial, and temporal Relations—and subsequently more complex Relations—continuously emerge and become increasingly discrete, outlining the Processes that enable the world to exist.
Principle of Individuation
At every level of Complexity—at every level of Reality—each object, each product of the Process of Formation of Reality, each Event, Action, Information, Structure of Information, Form, becomes a whole—a unity—a new Entity, a (Derived) Source of Events, of Action, of Information, and thus a new active subject in the ongoing Creation and Evolution of Reality.
The object of Action becomes itself a new subject of Action.
In the physical domain of Nature, this principle manifests itself as the Principle of Quantization.
This nested structure—both hierarchical and circular—has significant implications for the development strategies of the formalization system of the proposed model for describing Physical Reality. Each level of Reality may possess its own formalization system—a coordinated set of equations that precisely describe the dynamics governing the Processes underlying the Phenomena occurring within that specific layer of Reality.
The output of the analytical formalization system at a given level can—and should—consist of one or more synthetic physical quantities, capable of summarizing the properties and collective behavior of the Entities (Forces and Fields), Operators, and Processes (Events and Relations) that define the level under consideration.
A classic example is the concept of temperature, in brief, a physical quantity representing a statistical synthesis of a system composed of:
- Entities (Sources: Forces, Fields)—in this case, the molecules of a gas in motion within a spatial volume over a time interval
- Operators: Translation, Interaction, Velocity, Volume, Pressure, Heat
- Processes: motion of the molecules within the considered volume; collisions between molecules and between molecules and the walls of the container enclosing the volume; etc.
- Synthetic physical quantity (input for the formalization system of the higher level): Temperature
