At the level of Forms, by "substance" we mean any aggregate of atoms and molecules or any set of Dark Structures. In other words, a substrate composed of either Visible Matter or Dark Matter.
The term substance is currently equated with matter - or, more precisely, with chemical substance.
In this context, at this level of Reality, we can identify a multiplicity of different substances, as well as various combinations of them, which together constitute the objects of Physical Reality. For instance, consider the air we breathe (a mixture of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, rare gases, water vapour, trace compounds, and various pollutants), the water we drink (comprising oxygen, hydrogen, dissolved gases, minerals, ions, and other constituents), sand, rocks, our blood, bird feathers, a fork - and even the halo of diffuse Dark Matter that envelops our solar system. These represent an infinite range of composite objects - from those made of a single substance up to objects that combine countless substances.
These are always considered "derived" substances, because the one and only fundamental substance forming all of Reality, and therefore all such derivatives, is the Elementary Action. This derives from the inhomogeneities in the distribution of Elementary Events, the infinitesimal fluctuations within the Elementary Field under the incessant Action of the Fundamental Force - as seen, a process stemming from the inner interaction between the two aspects of the Source of Reality.
Derived substances possess attributes / properties that are partially identical or superimposable to those of the atoms and molecules composing them, yet also exhibit new characteristics emerging as a result of the collective behavior inherent in the complex interactions among their numerous components.
Substances, in their various states or phases (gas, liquid, solid, etc.), can transform, creating new, more or less complex substances through diverse chemical and physical processes. These processes may alter the nature of the substance itself and / or its attributes / properties, driving an incessant process of transformation, mutation, and evolution of Information / Energy, Structure(s), and Form(s).
This is the realm of chemical physics and chemistry in all its forms - inorganic, organic, biological, and beyond.
